Sony has yet to make Sinister Six, though, and Spider-Man: No Way Home looks like the studio's new way of bringing a handful of Spidey villains together, Electro included.Įlectro's return in Spider-Man: No Way Home could finally confirm that he did die in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Jamie Foxx's Electro could've returned there alongside many other Spider-Man villains. However, that was a possibility based on The Amazing Spider-Man 2's ending. The tease that Electro didn't die was also likely part of Sony's plan to set up their Sinister Six movie. It was not confirmed that Electro would return in the third solo film for Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man. Plans for The Amazing Spider-Man 3 were scrapped in favor of the MCU reboot. The tease of Electro's survival was something Sony never had the chance to pay off.
